Noosa TAPs dove head first into beach safety with the Noosa Surf Club on Tuesday! The students got a taste of what it’s like to be in an Australian surf club – swimming out and around water safety personnel, catching waves in on boards, running along the beach and competing against in each other in flags.
It was in the flags race that everybody became quite competitive, with the winner of the boys’ competition, Shuta from Japan, versing the winner of the girls’ – Ann-Christin from Germany! By this stage half the beach were watching the nail-biting decider (which was looking like Noosa’s own version of the Olympics), and with a minor handicap, it was Germany that took out the Gold. Congratulations Ann-Christin!
