TAP Asia is Booming – Kobe, Japan

Interested in learning Japanese but don’t want to be bored in a classroom then the TAP program is for you! ‘TAP’ stands for Teenage Activity Program and it’s the new thing to do this summer.  You will learn Japanese in a fun and alternative way but still get the results that you are wanting! The campus is located in downtown Kobe which is known for it’s shopping, amazing food, historical sites and most of all a safe and livable city for junior students.

A message to the parents: We have many staff members at Lexis Japan- Kobe that are ready to welcome your children for their  study experience. They are excited to help them reach their study goals but also have a lot of fun along the way of course!

Rika – Acting Campus Manager, Lexis Japan


Rika has been working at Lexis Japan for 4 years now. She started off her time at Lexis working as ‘Student Support Staff’ making sure that students are 100% satisfied with their time in Japan. Hard work and determination has worked well for Rika as she has recently been awarded with the position as ‘Acting Campus Manager’.

 Lexis Japan have accomplished many things but the most impressive is the award of the #2 school in 2017 based on student and staff feedback over the preceding 12 months through the worldwide agency group, ESL. All of the staff members at Lexis Japan are so proud of their achievement.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Japanese and English.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy meeting new people from all over the world every week and help them have a great time here.

What is the most popular things that Junior students do around the Kobe area?

–          Shopping (there are heaps of shops not only for clothes but also for stationary,  anime stuff, food, miscellaneous goods etc.)

–          Hiking (Mt. Rokko or Nunobiki)

–          Beach (Asagiri or Suma)

–          Cafés including small street shops which provide with crapes, soft serve etc.

–          Game center including Purikura (digital photo booth)

What is Kobe best kept secret?

          Sweets Paradise: More than 30 different kinds of cakes and ice creams including seasonal special flavors, salads, pastas, soups, soft drinks are all you can eat and drink for 90mins with 1,500yen

–          Cat café, owl café

–          100yen shop

What is the best advice that you could give to junior students and their parents?

The best advice I can give is don’t be afraid to travel outside of your comfort zone while you are studying in Kobe. You will be able to experience some of the most amazing outdoor activities such as exploring the mountains/sea but if that’s not for you then you could also enjoy the incredible city life in Kobe, Japan.
