On Thursday afternoon, the girls from OLR walked over to the Giraween Sports Complex to learn about the indigenous communities who occupied this area for thousands of years. Their guide, Brent, talked to the girls about the lives of aboriginal people and their heritage, with a few demonstrations in between!. The girls learnt how to make string from the bark of a tree, learnt about Aboriginal culture and some of the girls even attempted to throw a boomerang. It wasn’t as easy as Brent made it look. The girls also got the chance to try on some ochre (body paint!)
