Here are some photos of our visit to Japan and our stay with Soushi Tsuji and his family. Soushi stayed with us in Jan. 2011 and again, as an independent, in 2012. Included in the photos is Misaki Kimura, she stayed with us in July 2011. We were lucky to catch up with both of them.
We stayed with Soushi’s family for a week, we lived a traditional Japanese way, ate amazing Japanese food and visited some significant cultural temples and shrines. They live in Osaka and showed us all around their home city as well as Kyoto and Nara. We met Soushi’s grandparents at Osaka Castle where they prepared a lovely picnic for us.
At the time of our visit the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, they were beautiful. We found everyone to be extremely friendly, generous and so very polite. Soushi’s mother, Yoshie, works planning weddings, so she dressed me in a very exclusive kimono, I felt very honoured.
Soushi’s family is now planning a visit to Australia in 2016 when we hope to return their kind hospitality and show them the many interesting places we have here.
We would never have experienced this fabulous cultural opportunity if we had not been involved with Lexis College, we feel very lucky.
Kind Regards, Debra Walz
