Today the TAP students had their first surfing lesson at Noosa Main Beach.

At first students were a little nervous, but after some instructions on the beach they were eager to get into the water and give it a go.  Kio was the first to stand up and showed his class mates how to ride the waves with style. 

Shikino and Chihiro were great surfers too, the instructor (Stephan) was surprised and impressed how well they surfed for their first time on a surfboard.  Even though Hiroki was the shortest he showed everyone that he could be a great surfer as well, perhaps to his advantage a lower centre of gravity that allows for a greater balance.

At one point Hiroki said with a smiling face “Peter! I can’t touch sand.”  But he was not scared he was ready to catch the next wave. Akiko and Haruka said they had a good time surfing and wanted to go again next week.  In the end everyone was catching waves and standing tall riding their surfboards.  Wave of the day went to Kenyu, his last wave was a beauty.
