Surf and sun equals fun! Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make us the happiest.
In this fast paced world that we all live in, it’s nice to slow down with a pleasurable activity where you can enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature that is all around us. Yesterday TAP students joined with activity coordinator Nathan and surf instructors Tim and Mark, to take part in Ha e’nalu otherwise known as wave riding.
In Australia there are many sports that everyone enjoys playing such as cricket, rugby, soccer, tennis and of course surfing. Surfing is an ancient sport of the kings and queens in the Hawaiian Islands and today is enjoyed by over a hundred thousand people all over Australia and millions around the world.
Learning to surf these days has become a must do for many tourists visiting Australia. With the right technique and advice from professional coaches people are paddling into waves and standing tall on the board within a two-hour lesson.
The instructor takes you through 3 simple steps:
- Chicken Wings
- Back leg (Push up)
- Front foot (stand up)
Like magic, you are up and riding your first wave to the shoreline.
