Farewell Otemon High School

Leaving on a high note is always the best way to say goodbye and this is exactly how Otemon High School said goodbye to Global Village Noosa and their host families on Friday evening.

The farewell party was a big hit with an attendance of 140 people including host families, teachers, students and Global Village staff.  Acting as MC for the evening, Nathan welcomed everybody on arrival and invited them to enjoy some beautiful food and drinks.  Once settled it was time for the presentation of certificates to the students.  This was accompanied with a warm smile and firm handshake of recognition from Becky Cantor, our Director of Studies at Global Village Noosa.

Otemon students had one more opportunity to shine for their guests and teachers on the evening with four group performances.  Each performance was unique and related directly to either an English class or activity they experienced in Australia.  The four performances included Aboriginal Dreamtime stories, acting, dancing, a recollection of visiting Australia Zoo and Sunshine Coast bus tours.   All of the performances were an interpretation of Australian lifestyle and spoken language.

On their trip, students enjoyed many daily activities including visiting the famous Australia Zoo, home of legendary ‘Croc Hunter’ Steve Irwin, kayaking down Noosa River, go-kart racing, whale watching, Underwater World and wake boarding.

Otemon High School was able to complete their English studies at Coco bay Resort in a very comfortable learning environment.  The teachers Annette, Ricky, Judith and Robin wish all of their students the best of luck in their future studies.  ‘We hope you enjoyed your stay and experiences in Noosa .  Thankyou and good luck to all of the students and teachers from Otemon High School.’

A special thank you from all of the staff at Global Village Noosa to Noriko Narai and Otemon teachers Mr Hiroshi Fugisawa, Yumi Ninagawa and Chizu Imahori.
