Surfing – A New Beginning

A large group of athletic juniors tackled the waves head on this week at Noosa Main beach for a Learn to Surf session with world champion surf school operator, Merrick Davies.

The Global Village TAP group of 26 eager beginner and intermediate surfers, were challenged with some strong and powerful waves yesterday.  First and second time surfers were split into two different groups and under the careful guidance of the professional surf instructors, students from France, Switzerland, Germany Japan and Taiwan battled with the waves, some of which reached over three feet in height.

The French students from FM Sports loved the conditions.  Claire, Alix and Malo really enjoyed learning to stand up and ride the waves.  A surprise visit from host family mother Monique, who came down to watch Nina from France, rode the clean swell lines of Noosa.

Students paddled and caught waves for two hours, laughing and sharing a wonderful water experience together as friends and surfers.  A new beginning started yesterday with many of our students finding a healthy addiction for the waves and riding.
